Sonya's Book Box is supported by a team of expert readers, from the Juhu Book Club & the Beas Book Club. We aim to enrich the reading experience for our subscribers & to introduce them to books they will love, both fiction and non fiction.

THE BOOK TEAM 

Tansy Troy : A writer & illustrator of stories for children, Tansy is an alumnus of  King’s College Cambridge, where she received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She has worked as a story-teller & artist-in-residence throughout the UK, and is currently the Head of the Early Years program at Kings College India. She spends her summer holidays in Manali, where she and her husband Tanzin Norbu manage dogs, cats, an apple orchard and school their daughter Dasel. Tansy also co-ordinates musical and story-telling projects for children living in Manali & Zanskar in Ladakh. 

Sonya Dutta Choudhury : A Banker in a last life, Sonya is a journalist, a book reviewer & a bookclub host. She has a graduate degree in English Literature from Delhi University and a post graduate degree in management from IIM Calcutta. She is also the author of “Career Rules: How to Choose Right & Get the Life You Want”. Sonya is the founder of Lit Leaders, and teaches Lit Lessons : Leadership Lessons from Literature. She reads indiscriminately, anything in print will do, though an addiction to murder mysteries is her greatest guilty pleasure.

Abdul Khan :  Best known in bookish circles for the sack of books he carries with him everywhere ( in case he runs out of books ! ) Abdul Khan is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad. He visits bookstores everywhere, has tete-e-tete's with the most interesting authors and book store managers. He is the founder of 4 Martech, a marketing company that uses technology to disrupt legacy marketing. 

Sarojini Thakur : A prolific reader and writer, Sarojini's articles have been  published by Kali for Women, Routledge Press of New York and UN WOMEN etc. A member of the  Indian Administrative Service, Sarojini retired as Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh. An alumnus of the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University and the University of Paris, Sarojini received the Prime Minister’s award for her initiative for plastic eradication in HP. A resident of Manali and of Lahaul, Sarojini and her husband Ashok Thakur, also run a gorgeous Bed and Breakfast in the Lahaul Valley, the perfect getaway for a reading and walking holiday !

Subhadip Dutta Choudhury : His first stop in every new town is the bookstore; English Bookstore in Chandigarh, Bahrisons in Delhi, Wheelers in Allahabad, Foyles in London, Citylights in SF. At IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta, Subhadip read very little but is making up for it now. He enjoys books on  religion, society, economics, history, management, military strategy, science. Subhadip works with Hawkins Cookers Limited, where he is under pressure during the day. His safety valve is to curl up in the evenings with a book on maybe how mosquitoes have influenced the results of many wars.
